Adopting Britain, 70 Years of Migration Exhibition

Six months temporary exhibition in a Grade 1 Listed Building, The Royal Festival Hall. A series of participation designs were developed to make the sensitive and political subject of migration more accessible and engaging to different audiences.
Fish scale-like circles containing true stories of how people migrated to Britain grew over the duration of the 6 months exhibition, transforming the space into a world map. Various colours represented various generations of migrants: ‘I am a migrant’, ‘my parents are migrants’, ‘my grandparents are migrants’.
In addition to design, I was responsible managing the budget, production and installation of the in-house graphic design. I also assisted the director with client liaison and site inspection. The challenge was to deliver ambitious content on a very tight schedule of four months from start to handover, running along side the curation and securing of objects.
